Google’s annual Zeitgeist list has just revealed the fastest growing search terms by UK internet users throughout 2012.

Singer Whitney Houston, who died in February, was named top trending person whilst gold medallist tennis ace, Andy Murray, came out as top Olympian.  And the latest Bond film, ‘Skyfall’, beat ‘Prometheus’ as the most searched for film.

In contrast with 2011, this year saw three UK destinations: London, Cornwall and Edinburgh beat off foreign competition to make the top ten trending travel destinations.  Proof perhaps that ‘staycations’ are the new overseas travel?

And Brits even turned to Google to ask the most common ‘what is’ question: ‘what is love?'

Well, the answer must surely be any one of our romantic cottages in Cornwall?!
