Cornwall: the stunning setting for BBC period drama ‘Poldark’
The latest BBC period drama, ‘Poldark’, starring Aiden Turner as Ross Poldark, is set in the Cornish countryside and already attracting huge numbers - of both viewers and also visitors to this stunning county.
Mainly filmed in Cornwall, locations have included:

Charlestown near St Austell, a village and port well known for its Grade II listed harbour

Porthqwarra Cove, formerly a fishing cove and now a perfect place for a dip in the sea and picnic

Bodmin Moor, a granite moorland in north east Cornwall and the setting for the exterior shots of Ross Poldark’s cottage

Church Cove, Gunwalloe, a popular family beach and perfect watersports location, used for night time ship wreck scenes

St Agnes Head, with its breath-taking coastline, used as Nampara Valley in the programme

Padstow area for some more of the cliff scenes, including views across the Camel Estuary
