Can you use a hot tub in the summer?
The short answer is yes! After a long, hot summer’s day, nothing beats hopping into the hot tub to cool off.
Enjoy a couple of drinks and watch the sunset go down over a beautiful day.
Or make the most of the sunshine and take a dip in the daytime.
If you turn the temperature down, you have yourself a plunge pool! The cooler water can be incredibly refreshing and it is the perfect way to stay refreshed and comfortable.

Relaxation benefits of a hot tub
Nothing says ‘relaxation’ better than a hot tub.
After a long day exploring the local area, jumping into a hot tub to soak those sore muscles in is pure bliss.
The heat from a hot tub can help increase the blood flow, heal muscles, and prevent muscle soreness. This means you will be ready and raring to do it all again the next day.
A hot tub can do wonderful things to the mind, too.
The soothing warm water releases feel-good endorphins in the body that can be both invigorating and therapeutic. Spending just 10 minutes a day in a hot tub can help clear negative thoughts and induce a sense of calm.
And it really doesn’t matter what time of year you go on your trip – these health benefits are available to you all year round.
Caution when using a hot tub
It goes without saying that, as with any open water, caution should be taken if you opt for a cottage with a hot tub.
If you are heading on holiday with the kids, make sure they are supervised around the hot tub at all times.
When the hot tub is not in use, keep it covered up, in order to reduce the risk of small children falling in.
When using your hot tub, take short breaks after 10-15 minutes intervals in the water to prevent heat-related illnesses, including nausea, dizziness and fainting.
It is also best to avoid using hot tubs if you are pregnant or suspect you might be pregnant. This is because it can cause your body temperature to rise too high, posing a risk to your own health or your baby’s.
Similarly, if you have high blood pressure or having been drinking heavily, then hot tubs should be avoided.
