Both the Wealdway and the Vanguard Way, two of England's famous walks, lead virtually from the cottages up on to the Forest. Covering over 6000 acres of the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, horse riders have countless bridleways available to them, but if you prefer to enjoy the countryside on two feet or even two wheels it is also a great place for walking, cycling and enjoying spectacular views.

Horse riding fans will especially love this super cottage, which backs onto a stable yard where you are welcome to take advantage of the many equestrian facilities available. As well as lessons you have the use of the 80 acres of surrounding countryside with a cross-country course and practise area, indoor and outdoor arenas and show jumping field for sunny days!
Owl’s Roost makes a welcome retreat after a hard day’s riding. Relax in a warm bath and then prepare a meal in the well-equipped kitchen, which also has a useful washer dryer. After a hearty supper – or perhaps a barbeque in the shared courtyard, snuggle up for the night and dream of galloping across the Sussex countryside. The cosy cottage has a double mezzanine bedroom and a sofa bed in the sitting room making it ideal for a family who want to explore the Ashdown Forest, the many national heritage treasures in the area, enjoy a spot of shopping in Royal Tunbridge Wells or a paddle in Brighton. With all of this on your doorstep you may wish to enjoy the cottage whilst keeping both feet firmly on the ground at all time.
We can arrange livery for you, so if you can’t bear to be without your horse on holiday – then bring him along too!
