Walkers can take advantage of the village's location close to the edge of the popular area known as The Roaches and many other trails. The market town of Leek is four miles away and has a variety of shops as does the spa town of Buxton, which is slightly further afield at a distance of 12 miles. Alton Towers is a short drive away and as well as the thrilling rides on offer the park has beautiful gardens and other year round activities and attractions. This area makes a fabulous base for a family holiday.
