Location
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
The fishing port of Whitby is well placed for exploring the stunning coastline of Yorkshire and the equally spectacular North York Moors. The town itself has winding streets and alleyways secreted away just begging to be explored, the Abbey and it's famous 199 steps is a prominent feature and are said to have been one of the inspirations of Bram Stoker's atmospheric dark tale of Dracula. The bustling harbour and the beautiful sandy beaches offer a safe haven for families. Robin Hood's Bay is only six miles away and well worth a visit, with it's winding lanes and quirky houses. Further inland, 20 miles away is the market town of Pickering, home of the North Yorkshire Steam Railway. This is a fabulous area for a holiday.
