For more specialist amenities, the market town of Barnard Castle is within easy driving distance and provides everything a visitor could possibly need. The surrounding countryside is full of excellent walking opportunities through high, open moorland and pretty wooded valleys. Nearby are the waterfalls of High Force and Cauldron Snout, which are often considered to be amongst the most spectacular sights in the district.

Off road parking for 1 car. Patio with picnic bench. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops, pubs and village centre 10 min walk. Note: The two acre field is used for campers during the summer months, the nearest pitch is 50 yards from the cottage and there is some screening to that side of the cottage on the patio area and the caravan park is 100 yards away in the adjoining field. Note: The river bank is 200 yards from the cottage. Note: The owner of the site provides 1000 yards of free fishing on the River Tees (guests must have own rod licence), please contact owner at the site reception for more information.
