Location

Dungeness is located in an un-spoilt area on the southernmost corner of the bay that stretches from Folkestone to Rye. There are some beautiful walks to explore the wild landscape, and experience the beauty of the sea and the enormous skies. The Old Lighthouse is a popular visitor attraction, as is the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch steam railway which passes close by with the miniature steam train meandering along the coast to Hythe, a wonderful way to enjoy Kent's scenery. There are two pubs on the reserve, The Britannia and The Pilot, and the unique ‘Fish Hut’ selling caught-on-the day fresh fish. The wonderful former smuggler’s town of Rye with its choice of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants is well worth a visit and only 10 miles away.

The sounds of the sea and the birds greet you at this intriguing and graceful seafront holiday home for two. With dramatic views from every angle of the house, this is truly ‘a room with a view.’ Whether you are relaxing, reading, cooking in the beautifully equipped kitchen, or enjoying some music on the Bose sound system, the dramatic unspoiled landscape around you beguiles, and invites you to explore the completely unique Dungeness.

Create an unforgettable experience here, and admire Dungeness from ‘Fog Signal,’ a former foghorn testing station run by Trinity House, which was originally set up by Henry the VIII.

Beautifully designed and equipped with Miele appliances, it has a limestone floor with underfloor heating and contrasting bare oak, ceiling to floor glass and beautiful contemporary furniture pieces, ensuring not only a unique stay but a wonderfully comfortable and memorable one too.

The estate, in which the building sits, is a bed of seemingly endless pebbles, surrounded by a unique and fascinating landscape. The sea invites you to the front of the home whilst the vast open landscape of Romney Marsh is behind. Not forgetting the most undeniably interesting backdrop of the Nuclear Power station. Quite like being in the middle of a film set!

The interior has been transformed with the highest quality fittings and materials, and the addition of a log burner in the open plan sitting/ dining room makes it ideal for those crisp winter breaks. Through the large windows with beautiful large double doors, catch a glimpse of ‘Cap Gris Nez,’ the closest point of France to England, on a clear day.

The indulgent bathroom has two teak baths and a shower – perfect after a long walk. Transform the space in the evening and retire to the sleeping area, drawing the bespoke curtaining to completely envelope you.

Enjoy a stay at this extra special retreat for two, in the middle of a National Nature Reserve. It promises a uniquely memorable and peaceful stay.

The perfect place to spend a mini-honeymoon, as featured in Kent Life.
