Besides the spectacular and renowned gardens, there are wonderful walks and cycle routes to follow or drive to the miles of sand at Sandwich and follow the bay to Pevensey.

There are several world class golf courses in the area including Royal St Georges, Sandwich

There are also several good pubs within walking distance including The Griffins Arms at Chillenden renowned for its excellent food and BBQ’s in the summer.

Jane Austen was a frequent visitor as her brother married into the family that owned it and the house inspired her to write Pride and Prejudice after her stay. Completely renovated the house retains its historic charm with a contemporary yet traditional interior.
