The village of Picklescott is in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Picklescott is in a lovely walk along country lanes while the surrounding area has bridlepaths with walking and cycling opportunities. The village is home to The Bottle and Glass food pub. Enjoy the views from the Devil's Chair at Stiperstones Nature Reserve, or visit Church Stretton with its half-timbered buildings, a 6 mile drive away across the Long Mynd hills. The towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, with their castles, shops, restaurants and riverside walks are well worth a visit, as are the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge with its fascinating museums, the amazing Roman ruins at Wroxeter and Stokesay Castle.
