Location
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
The charming, elevated village of Sneaton is just three miles from Whitby. Delightful stone cottages line the main street and there is a traditional public house with an open fire, exposed beams and serving delicious meals at the heart of the village. Nearby is Beacon Farm, which has a tea-room, farm shop and also produces wonderful ice-cream. Sneaton is a paradise for walkers as numerous footpaths can be found around the village most notably the Monks Trod, an ancient stone pathway that the monks used to travel to Whitby Abbey to worship. The neighbouring village of Ruswarp offers boating on the River Esk and a small golf course. Sneaton is well placed for the coast and the North York Moors and offers a variety of attractions and activities, making it perfect for a holiday base.
