Nearby Cockburnspath lies on the eastern extremity of the Southern Upland Way and is a long distance footpath from the west to east coast of the country. A short drive or train journey north will take you to Edinburgh - a vibrant city with a wonderful arts culture - whilst Berwick-upon-Tweed and Lindisfarne are just a short drive south.
