The historic and picturesque town of Kirkcudbright sits on the banks of the tidal waters of the River Dee, on the north Solway shore. Established as a Royal burgh in 1455, giving it status to trade with ports outside Scotland, Kirkcudbright has always been supported by a busy fishing trade and is home to a blue flag marina.

Note: There is a drop from the lawn onto the sand and again care should be taken. Note: Swimming is not advised from the garden; Dhoon Bay, a popular local swimming beach, is about 10 minutes walk from the house. Note: There can be shooting in the local area during the months of October, November, December and January. Note: Max 6 adults.
